Sometimes it just helps to see the magic happening in person.

Sarah Simon's in-person watercolor classes are unlike anything you have experienced in an art class before. Students regularly walk away saying they learned more in two hours with Sarah than in months of classes elsewhere, and that is entirely by design.

Every class is built around Sarah's core belief: that watercolor should feel joyful, approachable, and genuinely within reach for anyone willing to pick up a brush. Her teaching is warm, clear, and deeply encouraging: the kind that makes a complete beginner feel capable within the first ten minutes and a seasoned painter discover something new by the last.

What to Expect:

Every class begins with the foundations. Sarah's own layer-by-layer approach to watercolor, taught step by step so that you genuinely understand what you are doing and why. From there you'll move into painting a pre-drawn original design, so no drawing experience is ever required. Just show up, pick up your brush, and begin.

You will leave with:
✦ A completed original watercolor piece you made yourself
✦ A professional art kit to continue painting at home
✦ Often, a copy of Sarah's internationally bestselling Watercolor Workbook — with 25 projects to paint inside
✦ The confidence and foundational skills to keep going

What makes these classes different:

Sarah doesn't just teach technique, she teaches a way of seeing. Her classes include the practice of slowing down and savoring the creative process, and enjoying the painting itself. She deliberately chooses beautiful, meaningful locations for her classes: local farms, iconic small businesses, stunning community spaces, celebrating the makers and the places that make the region extraordinary. The setting is always part of the experience.

She also frequently collaborates with other local creators, making each class a genuinely unique event rather than a repeated formula. Because Sarah designs each class with the specific location, the season, and the community in mind, no two events feel exactly alike.

Whether you have never held a paintbrush before or you have been painting for years and want to go deeper, Sarah's classes meet you exactly where you are.
